My name is Christina Borders and I’m a puppy specialist here at the Empowered Puppy School. I am passionate about puppies, especially keeping growing puppies safe and healthy.
So many dogs and puppies are routinely diagnosed with hip or elbow dysplasia, ligament tears, sprains, strains, and even fractures due to a lack of preventative measures. But by involving a puppy in a safe, low impact exercise routine we can greatly reduce the chances of orthopedic injury early on and into adulthood.
While it’s true that puppies do need to play and be ‘puppies’, over exercising can actually do much more harm than good. High impact and repetitive movements like running, long walks, retrieving a ball endlessly or rough games of tug can cause joint damage over time leading to pre-injury, injury, and degenerative diseases.
Our puppy fitness program is designed by combining the muscle isolating stretches of yoga-like movements along with a dash of impulse control. This perfect formula is is so simple and easy, you and your puppy will be having fun and strengthening your relationship at the same time!

Ranger is thriving — he is the size of a Shetland pony 🙂 He is extremely intelligent! He knows that we have to wipe his paws when he comes in from the rain, and lifts all four paws in sequence.
